Pangilinan to entertain Cebu marathoners

YOUR Face Sounds Familiar Season 2 finalist Michael Pangilinan will perform at the Terraces of Ayala Center Cebu tonight, 7 p.m. as participants of the Cebu City Marathon gather for a pre-race party. Organizers will brief marathoners tonight as they enjoy a photo booth, special raffle prizes and a musical performance by Pangilinan.

The much-awaited annual Cebu City Marathon, organized by Runrio Inc. and Cebu Executive Runners Club, is happening this Sunday. Co-presented by Ayala Center Cebu, the running event will start at the Garden Bloc, Cebu I.T. Park with race distances of five, 21 and 42 kilometers.

Founded in 2008, the Cebu City Marathon was formerly called “Sinulog Half Marathon” and was recognized as one of the activities of the Sinulog festival, with the event scheduled every second Sunday of the month. This year, a much bigger Cebu City Marathon awaits participants with more than 3,000 already signed up.

During race day on Jan. 10, assembly time for runners of the 42-kilometer run is at 2 a.m., 3.a.m. for the 21-kilometer category and 4 a.m. for the five-kilometer category with special prizes for best costume.

Race kits, which include a singlet, race bib with tag and a race manual, will be distributed from Jan. 6 to 9, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Active Zone, Ayala Center Cebu. (PR)
