POLICE arrested five suspected drug personalities, including a barangay official and hauled more than P900,000 worth of illegal drugs in separate operations in Bogo City, Carcar City, Boljoon and Minglanilla.
Last Friday, at 4:30 p.m., police caught Roy Ocampo in Barangay Sto. Rosario, Bogo City.
The suspect is a barangay councilor of Sto. Rosario, according to Bogo City Police Chief Richard Oliver.
Seized from his possession were 17.50 grams of white crystalline substance believed to be shabu worth P220,000.
Drug paraphernalia like tin foils, .38 revolver with two bullets, a magazine for a .45 pistol and cell phone were also seized from the suspect.
The operation was authorized by a search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 61 Judge Antonio Marigomen.
At 11 a.m., a buy-bust led to the arrest of Edwin Manguiran Tantano in Barangay Lower Lipata, Minglanilla.
The team led by Minglanilla Police Chief Franco Rudolf Oriol confiscated 5.4 grams of suspected shabu worth P59,472.
Five hours earlier, Rosito Fedillaga Olmilla was captured in the implementation of a search warrant in Barangay Poblacion, Boljoon.
More than P40,000 worth of illegal drugs was confiscated from the suspect’s possession.
In Barangay Liburon, Carcar City, the operatives of Provincial Intelligence Branch collared Joel Castañares and Mildred Alcoseba in a buy-bust last Thursday afternoon.
Taken from the suspects were 55.54 grams of white crystalline substance believed to be shabu and are worth P655,372 in street sales.
Complaints for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against the suspects.
