P492,000 worth of drugs seized

ALMOST half a million worth of illegal drugs were seized while 11 suspects were apprehended in a police drug bust conducted at Parola Street, Barangay 6, San Carlos City, on Saturday, January 23.

Two of the suspects were identified as as Wilson Agbay, 58, and his wife, Luzviminda, 57, according to police.

Also arrested were the couple's nephew, Ringo Agbay, 26; David Allan Ortega, 33; Mark Anthony Torno, 18; Larry Ombao, 23; Ronnel Villarias, 23; Jonathan Domondon, 37; Ernesto Sales Jr., 31; Denver Auditor, 29; and John Silva, all residents of the barangay.

Chief Inspector Mark Darroca, deputy chief of San Carlos City Police Office, said the subject of the operation are the couple, who were on the city’s drug watchlist, while the other suspects were arrested for visiting a drug den.

He said the couple sold a sachet of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) to a police poseur-buyer for P500.

The recovered drugs, weighing 78.2 grams, have an estimated street value of P492,000, Darroca said.

He added that the couple's house had previously been raided four times as it is allegedly used as a drug den.

All suspects, who are now in police custody, will face drug charges. (With a report by EPN)
