Wanted drug suspect killed in Davao drug bust

POLICE shot dead one of the top 10 most wanted personalities of the San Pedro police and arrested two others in an illegal drugs operation in Davao City on Monday afternoon.

Operatives of the San Pedro police led by its station commander Chief Insp. Ronald Lao in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted a drug bust operation at around 5:20 p.m. at Purok 8 in Barangay 76-A Bucana against the drug suspect identified as Arvee Jay Jemencio, alias Abing, 21, a resident.

Jemencio who accompanied Erlex Prada Duronio, alias Lek-lek, were already engaged in selling sachets of suspected shabu to a police operative who acted as a buyer who already paid them P4,000 marked money.

But as the police operatives closed in, Jimenez allegedly grabbed a .38 caliber revolver from his sling bag and fired at the agents. The police fired back, killing him on the spot. His companion escaped.

Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) recovered sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P29,000, a 38 revolver with one fired cartridge case, four live ammos, and two ammos believed to be from a 9mm.

The cadaver of the Jimenez was brought to the Anghel Funeral Homes for autopsy.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Chief Inspector Milgrace Driz confirmed that Jimenez was one of the top 10 most wanted personalities under the area of responsibility of the San pedro police.

In the same operation, San Pedro police also arrested two other suspects who were caught in the act of having shabu session during the raid.

Police identified the two as Algie Ballena, 20, construction worker, of the same address; and Jasper Jon Abi-abi, 18, of the same address.

Also seized from their possession were sachets of shabu and other drug paraphernalia.

The two arrested suspects are now detained at the San Pedro police station, awaiting the filing of appropriate charges for violation of the Republic Act (RA) 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
