THE Davao City Civil Registrar's Office (CCRO) recorded an increase of 2,040 births in 2015 compared to 2014.

Based on a document obtained by Sun.Star Davao on Saturday, a total of 45,540 births were registered last year, higher than the 43,500 registered in the same period in 2014.

Registered births even from January to November last year already reached up to 41,380, which is also higher to 2014's 39,850.

CCRO acting head of Birth Division-Shirley S. Arendain, in an interview last December, said that they recorded 44,000 births in 2012 and 2013 then it dropped to 43,500 in 2014.

Based on the records, majority of bulk of birth registrations were recorded in the months of June, July, August, and September last year.

Arendain added that they target 45,000 birth registrations this year.
