Candidates for CCCI board selected

THE Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) thru its Commission on Elections (Comelec) recently named the official candidates qualified to run for this year’s election of board of trustees.

Six candidates are contending to represent three seats in the industry sector namely: Nelson Bascones of Central Seafoods, Inc.; Charles Kenneth Co of Cebu Steel Corp.; Kenneth Cobonpue of Interior Crafts of the Islands; Ronald Po of Fiesta Beverage Corp.; Samson Tiu of Stitches and Wear Industries; and Tony Yap of Industrial Gateway Corp.

For the trade sector, official candidates for the two seats are Francis Dy of Greenworld LED Solutions and Edward Vincent Onglatco of Hyundai Cebu, Inc.

The service sector has seven candidates for four seats. They are Archt. Benjamin Avila of Avila Architects; Virgilio Espeleta of FAMCOR Franchise Management & Executive Development; Engr. Joseph Emmanuel Abraham C. Lee of J.E. Abraham Lee Construction & Development; Edwin Vincent Ortiz of Able Services, Inc.; Manuel “Bunny” Pages, Jr. of Pages Holdings, Inc.; Benedict Que of Golden Prince Hotel and Suites; and Antonio Ynoc of San Remegio Beach Club.

Jimmy Chua of Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) and Atty. Maria Jane C. Paredes of Smart Communications, Inc. are the candidates for the lone seat in the ICT sector.

Robert Go of the Philippine Retailer Association-Cebu is the lone candidate for the sectoral association sector.

The CCCI 2016 elections for board of trustees is set on Feb. 26 with 11 vacant seats to be filled. The general membership has been advised to submit their filled out and signed ballots on or before the election day to the CCCI Membership Development Division. (PR)
