ARAYAT --- Third District Representative Oscar Rodriguez led the groundbreaking of some P30-million worth of new school buildings at Camba High School on Thursday in a bid to address the school’s classroom hostage here.
Rodriguez said that the construction of the one three-storey and one four-storey buildings here will be in time for the full implementation of the K to 12 program.
"The government continues to allot a substantial amount of budget for the improvement of the education system in the country," Rodriguez said.
The said school is the second largest high school in this municipality. The said buildings will cater to the expected 2,000 incoming junior and senior high school students.
School principal Carlito Mandap said that the additional buildings are the answer to their current problem on classroom shortage.
"As of now we are implementing a shifting scheme to accommodate all our students," Mandap said.
Rodriguez vowed to monitor the buildings’ construction as well as the materials being used to assure the safety of the students. He also cited the building's foundation which failed in the soil bearing capacity architectural requirement due to its swampy component.
Department of Public Works and Highways assistant regional director Lorrie Malaluan said that an additional P4-million fund will be needed to initially secure the building's foundation.
The congressman, together with the DPWH-Central Luzon, hopes that the construction will be finished in time for the opening of classes this coming school year.
Meanwhile, Rodriguez reminded the students to view the government's project as an inspiration for them to study hard.
"Always grab the opportunity na ibinibigay hindi lang ng gobyerno kundi maging ng inyong mga magulang," Rodriguez told the students.
Present during the event were Mayor Emmanuel Alejandrino, Pampanga Schools Division Superintendent Leonardo Zapanta and other local officials.
