Silk Air celebrates 50th year with travel fair

SILK AIR, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, is holding a three-day travel fair this month, offering promo airfare rates and exclusive travel perks to encourage more Filipinos to book flights to the airline’s over 50 destinations around the globe.

The countrywide travel sale, according to SilkAir Philippines manager Ganesh Perumal, is in celebration of Singapore Airlines’ 50 years in the Philippines.

“We are excited to bring our largest countrywide travel sale for our Filipino customers to thank them for their continued support for SilkAir and Singapore Airlines throughout the years,” said Perumal.

Kristine Dianne Lim, senior sales officer at SilkAir, said that the airline has constantly innovated to provide passengers with the best travel experience as well as connecting them to various points around the globe. Singapore Airlines now has links to Dusseldorf, Germany, and Canberra, Australia and Wellington in New Zealand.

Silk Air flies from Cebu 12 times a week. The airline also has presence in Davao and Kalibo.

The three-day travel fair on Feb. 19 to 21 at The Gallery of Ayala Center Cebu will allow KrisFlyer members, BPI credit cardholders, Globe Platinum customers as well as and Ayala Center Cebu shoppers to book all-inclusive round trip promotional fares starting at $150.

Singapore Airlines will likewise mount a showcase and travel fair on the same dates in Glorietta Activity Center, Makati.

To attract more customers to travel, BPI is offering a payment option of zero interest up to six months under the BPI Special Installment Plan.

It will also provide $50 cash back for every purchase of two tickets beyond Singapore of the same itinerary valid for travel until December 2016 or four tickets to Singapore of the same itinerary valid for travel from April 1 to June 30 and the whole month of December.

The promotional fares are available for the whole month of February for travel period until Dec. 31, 2016 to Singapore as well as to other destinations like Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Australia, and Europe. Passengers can also travel to Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Dubai, Maldives, New Zealand and South Africa.

The all-in exceptional fares also come with 30 kilograms (kg) baggage allowance for economy, 35 kg for premium economy and 40kg for business class.

The discounted fares are also available online, but the credit cardholder must inform the bank regaring the availment of the zero installment payment scheme, said Julienne Irene Chiong, regional markets head of BPI’s Market and Strategy Development Division Payments and Remittance Group.

On top of the attractive air rates, SilkAir and Singapore Airlines are also offering a complimentary Singapore Explorer Pass that will allow travelers to access over 20 different attractions in Singapore like Gardens by the Bay, Madame Tussauds, Singapore Cable Car, Singapore Zoo, Singapore Flyer and free rides on the Singapore Airlines Hop on Bus.
