DOH sets forum on HIV-Aids, TB, malaria

THE Department of Health (DOH) is holding the Second Mindanao Regional Forum on Human Immunodeficiency Virus-Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (HIV-AIDS), Tuberculosis (TB), and Malaria in Zamboanga City next week.

City Hall information officer Belen Sheila Covarrubias said the forum is scheduled on Tuesday, February 17.

Covarrubias said the forum aims to help strengthen multi-stakeholders involvement and coordination towards improve relevance and effectiveness of programs on HIV-Aids, TB and Malaria.

Participants of the forum are representatives from local government units, national government agencies, health facilities, and local civil society organizations from Global Fund program areas in Mindanao such as Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao, Davao, and Cagayan de Oro.

The forum is anchored on the theme “Strengthening Communities’ Engagement in the Response on HIV/Aids, TB, and Malaria.” (Bong Garcia)
