THE politically influential Eusebio family of Pasig City expressed its all-out support to vice presidential candidate Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
At Marcos' campaign rally held at the covered court of Barangay Maybunga, incumbent city councillor Ricky Eusebio on Tuesday night endorsed the vice presidential bid of the senator.
"We will help VP (vice president) Bongbong Marcos 100 percent. We will make sure that he will 100 percent win in Pasig City (because) he's the first vice presidential candidate who landed here in our place," Eusebio said.
Eusebio, who is running for congressman in the May 9 elections, is a son of former city mayor Vicente Eusebio.
Vicente's wife, Idad, had also served as mayor, as well as the couple's other son, Bobby. Bobby’s wife, Maribel, is the incumbent mayor of Pasig.
Marcos was elated on the Eusebio family's support and said it would help him boost his chances to win the vice presidential race.
"Thank you very much to Eusebio (family) who has been with us for so long. Thank you for your warm support," the senator said.
Before attending the rally, Marcos took his Unity Caravan on a motorcade around Pasig that traversed Barangays Kapasigan, Pinagbuhatan, Palatiw, San Miguel, Caniogan, and Maybunga as city folk lined the sidewalks to welcome him.
On February 15, San Juan City mayor Guia Gomez endorsed the candidacy of Marcos, saying she believed in his competency to be the country's second top leader because of his long experience in public service and his progressive plans for the country.
On the first week of kick-off campaign, Marcos also got the support of the opposing political forces in the so-called Solid North provinces of Abra, La Union, and Pangasinan. (Sunnex)
