NBI 7 opens new office for transactions

IN its effort to bring services closer to the people, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) 7 opened today another satellite clearance center at Paseo Arcenas in Banawa, Cebu City.

NBI 7 Director Ricardo Diaz said the new facility is the fourth one established in Cebu and that they are planning to build one in Lapu-Lapu City.

“Our applicants have endured long lines that consumed much of their time that's why we opened another satellite office,” he told Sun.Star Cebu.

The other clearance centers are located in J. Center Mall in Mandaue City; Enan Chiong Activity Center in Naga City; and the old municipal hall of Bogo City.

Diaz said the clearance center in Paseo Arcenas, a shopping complex in Banawa, Barangay Guadalupe, can accommodate 1,000 applicants every day.

It started operations yesterday and is expected to reduce the volume of applicants in other offices in the province.

Diaz said the new office is a result of the public-private partnership of the government and the management of Paseo Arcenas.

The shopping complex provided the air-conditioned facility while the NBI 7 trained the employees.
