OPERATIVES of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized P200,000 worth of illegal drugs and arrested eight suspects, including a minor, in a drug bust conducted at Purok San Pedro in Barangay Zone 4 Cadiz City Wednesday afternoon.

The subject of the operation was Ramer Arquillo, 47, of Purok Narra in Barangay Tinampaan.

Investigation Agent V David Mark Maramba, operations division chief of PDEA-Negros Island Region, said that Arquillo sold two sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) to a police poseur-buyer for P1,000.

Also arrested for visiting the drug den were a 17-year-old girl; Ma. Cristina Tan, 49; Jansen Ryan Dumdum, 25; Federick Chavez, 47; Renato Bayo, 44, all of Cadiz City; Carlo Rombo, 23, of San Carlos City; and Ardie Balasan, 18, of Manapla.

The recovered shabu, weighing 50 grams, has an estimated market value of P200,000, Maramba said.

He added that they are still verifying if Arquillo is included in the city’s drug watchlist.

All suspects, who are now in police custody, will face drug charges. (MPE)
