ANTI-narcotics agents have destroyed over P11-million worth of marijuana in La Union.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. said PDEA and the Philippine National Police (PNP) swept 16 marijuana plantation sites during an operation in the province on Wednesday.
The operation was conducted in Sitio Palpalidan, Barangay Sasaba; and Sitios Bas-ungan, Sagingsing and Saep, Barangay Sapdaan, Santol, La Union, on February 24.
The operation resulted in the destruction of 49,600 fully-grown marijuana plants, 41,600 marijuana seedlings, and 700 grams of dried marijuana stalks in 16 cultivation sites covering a total area of 7,182 square meters.
The estimated value of illegal hemp destroyed was P11,671,500.
No cultivator was arrested during the operation. (SDR/Sunnex)
