Pasonanca Tree House refurbished

THE famous Tree House in Pasonanca Park was refurbished to continue to give joy to the residents and visitors of Zamboanga City.

The family of the late mayor Cesar Cortes Climaco, in partnership with the City Government, took the lead in refurbishing the tree house which is considered as one of his legacies.

The Tree House was originally constructed to be the Youth Citizenship Training Center in April 1960 through the initiative of Climaco, who marked his 100th birth anniversary on Monday.

Pasonanca Park, which is considered as the main tourist attraction in the city, is located at Camp Jose Atilano Campsite in the village of Pasonanca.

City Hall Information Officer Belen Sheila Covarrubias on Tuesday said the Tree House is now fully furnished with comfortable twin beds and bathroom.

The Tree House was re-inaugurated on Sunday with the official unveiling of the marker led by Climaco’s niece, Mayor Ma. Isabelle Climaco-Salazar, and relatives as well as other city officials in celebration of the late mayor’s 100th birth anniversary.

Covarrubias said the public, including visitors, can get the chance to try and experience an unforgettable stay at house atop the heritage acacia tree.
