A 52-YEAR-OLD Singaporean national who was in Davao City to seek treatment from a quack doctor was found dead inside his residence Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities are conducting investigation to verify the cause of death of Dennis Joo Yong Seng who was found around 4 p.m. at his house at PMPC Village, Panacan, Davao City.
Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Senior Inspector Milgrace Cajes Driz, in an interview on Thursday, said, "we still do not know if it was a natural death or suicide as some chemicals were found in the scene."
Reports from the investigators revealed that Seng was actually living in Manila the past five years.
The wife of the deceased together with their son is also in Manila for work.
"He was sick and was looking for treatment there. According to his mother-in-law who was in the house with him, he last went to St. Luke's Hospital but did not feel better that's why they resorted to come here," Driz added.
The mother-in-law also said that he was complaining about difficulty in breathing. When she was about to check inside his room, she noticed that he was no longer responding.
Police reported that no foul play was noted at the crime scene. The cadaver of the victim was brought to Rivera Funeral Homes for autopsy. (CCC)
