Guv to media: Criticize erring public officials

ANGELES CITY -- Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda told members of the media to do their job as watchdogs of democracy and criticize erring public officials.

Pineda stressed this during her speech at the 67th anniversary and induction ceremonies of the Pampanga Press Club (PPC) at The Encore of Century Hotel in Balibago this city on Wednesday.

The governor at the same time solicited the cooperation of Pampanga newsmen for the development of the province.

She also asked them to “advise” elected officials to “correct their mistakes.”

Pineda however reminded the PPC members to give due credits and laud government officials for their accomplishments.

Pineda thanked the Pampanga media, particularly the PPC, for supporting the provincial government in its development programs.
