Palace: No move to derail Duterte's candidacy

MALACANANG denied Friday that the Aquino administration was engaged in pinning down presidential aspirant Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte on his alleged involvement in extrajudicial killings.

"Walang proyekto and pamahalaan na siraan si Mayor Duterte o sino mang kandidato," Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said in a regular press briefing.

Duterte's camp has raised concern over the alleged plan of the allies of President Benigno Aquino III to file charges against Duterte.

This was allegedly a desperate attempt of the administration to derail Duterte's candidacy. (SDR/Sunnex)
