#SHORTS: 2.5M Filipinos jobless in January; Dawn fire in Cebu, 1,800 families out; 7 fish dealers die in Davao collision

JOBLESS. The Philippine unemployment rate plunged to 5.8 percent in January, equivalent to some 2.469 million Filipinos, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said Friday.

FIRE. A fire damaged P2.345 million worth of properties in two Mandaue City barangays before dawn yesterday and displaced around 1,300 families.

COLLISION. Seven fish dealers died when the fish car they were riding collided with a private-owned dump truck in Barangay Tamugan, Marilog District in Davao City Saturday morning.
