Beauty products from Davao to the world

FROM just repacking beauty products, this homegrown company has evolved into one of the leading players in the beauty and wellness industry, this time producing skin care products of its own for both men and women not only in the Philippines, but throughout the world as well.

Barely 11 years in the business, Angel Sue Marketing, established by Dabawenya Angelita "Susan" Damag in 2005, now boasts of close to 30 beauty products that are well accepted in both domestic and foreign markets.

All these products are produced in the company's modern laboratory facility in Sasa, Davao City. These include the Magic Cream, Pimple Cream, Underarm Cream, Magic Soap, Magic Toner, Skin Lightener, Defense Sunblock, Extreme Perfume, Heros Magic Cream, Facial Cleanser, Face and Body Cleanser, Skin Repair, Body Moisturizing Cream, Pimple Soap, Dramatically Soap, Baby Colognes and Irish Prince Facial Cleanser.

"We are now all over Asia, including countries that are known for its own beauty products, like Japan, Taiwan and Malaysia. And we are proud to say we are doing well in these foreign markets," Marema Ursula Marcian, Angel Sue administrative manager, is proud to say.

She said their bestsellers, which the company considers as flagship products, are its line of Magic Cream and Magic Soap which are a hit in foreign markets, like Dubai, Brunei Darrusalam and Malaysia.

"Consistency of our products is basically the reason why these are well accepted in the market. The result is always our main consideration. So if the product gives out better result to the user, I don’t think there's a need for us to change the composition of the product. If we do that, for sure, the market will complain," Marcian said.

Even company owner, Angelita "Susan" Damag, proudly said that due to the proven effectiveness of their products, they have definitely gained the trust of their target market.

"You have to be consistent with the quality of products that you provide the market," Damag said.

But this doesn't mean the company is not innovating. Marcian said company owners, in fact, are engaged into unending research and development efforts as they are committed towards bringing out the real beauty in each of their client.

"We continue to innovate, develop new products that fit the demand of the market. In fact Maam Susan (Danag) wants to regularly offer the market with newly-developed skin-care products that suit their needs," Marcian said.

The quality of the products is also well-taken cared of.

"We are confident of the quality of our products. In fact, customers will surely come back even if they have tried using that of the competitors. It really pays to consistently give your best in everything that you do," Damag said.

"Our products lighten your skin naturally without anyone noticing that you are using something. Your skin doesn't chafe or becomes red whenever you use it so there is no visible sign that you are actually using a beauty cream," she proudly said.

At present, Angel Sue Marketing is continuously expanding its market, as it looking into intensifying its presence in North America, like the United States and Canada.

Damag said that with various trade fairs and business matching events that she has attended through the intervention of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Davao Region, she has reached heights in her business.

"We really have cornered institutional buyers by joining trade events, especially when we were just starting out in 2005," she said.

At present, the company is exporting its products to India, Japan, Germany, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Dubai, Taiwan and Brunei Darussalam. In the Philippines, Angel Sue Marketing serves buyers from Mindanao to Luzon.
