Suspect arrested in Davao drug bust sued

A MAN who was arrested in a drug bust operation conducted by the authorities at National Highway, Muslim Village in Barangay Ilang last Sunday was sued before the Davao City Prosecution Office.

Charged with violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, was respondent Abdul Gapar Muhammad Nassal, 48, a resident in the area.

According to the Bunawan police, they launched the drug bust operation with the coordination of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) that led to the arrest of the respondent and confiscation of two transparent heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu worth P500 and a P500 bill from the possession of the respondent.

The confiscated items were withheld by the operatives while the respondent is currently detained at the Bunawan police station for proper disposition of the case.

The case filed against the respondent has yet to be resolved by Prosecutor Jay Karel Sanchez. (RCP)
