P3M allotted for construction of Police Station 2 building

THE City Government of Bacolod has allocated P3 million to fund the construction of the Police Station 2 headquarters at the corner of Aguinaldo and Aquino Streets.

City Administrator Jerome Solinap said on Wednesday, March 16, that the building would rise next to the Andres Bonifacio Elementary School.

Solinap said that since the lot was donated to the school by the Capitol Subdivision Inc., the city has negotiated with the donor that they should interpose “no objection” to the construction of the police building.

Lawyer Jose Roger Las Pias, representative of Capitol Subdivision Inc., met with Mayor Monico Puentevella on Wednesday and told him that the company has no objection to the construction of the police station building, he added.

Solinap said the requirements for the construction were being processed, and that the city was awaiting the official document stating that the Capitol Subdivision Inc. has no objection to the construction, then the city could start the project.

Police Station 2, headed by Senior Inspector Edison Garcia, has been sharing space in Barangay 5 Hall.

The station vacated the site of their old headquarters on 19th and Lacson Streets last year after lot owner Felix Suarez took back the property.
