Rebel leader: Restiveness seen if Duterte is cheated

RESTIVENESS will be stirred up in Mindanao if Davao City Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte loses the presidential race through cheating, Moro National Liberation Front Davao City chair Rolando Abdul Aziz T. Olamit.

Olamit made the statement in a media interview on Sunday at the sidelines of the Mindanao Wide Peace Summit and Declaration of Alliances at Talomo and Amina Muslim Village, NHA Bajada said.

"As you look at this, there are revolutionaries now coming in, hindi lang Christian, hindi lang Muslim, lahat ng sector. They will stand because it is incumbent upon us Mindanaons to choose our own kind, hindi na natin palagpasin ito this is our real chance this is the real time," Olamit said.

He said that they decided to publicly declare their support for the mayor to join the growing number of those who have already openly declared their support.

He also said that their group founder and leader Nur Misuari has already declared their support for the presidentiable including all camps, followers, and sympathizers, and that all of them will help not just in votes but also perform other functions to ensure Duterte's success.

"We assure that in our areas controlled by MNLF, 100% Duterte kung maari lang zero ang kalaban and not only we will vote, we will campaign and we will protect the votes of the people to assure and deliver the votes of Mayor Duterte for president," Olamit said.

Misuari in a phone patch also reiterated his call for his group members to vote for Duterte.

"Hindi aksayahin ang boto niyo sa May 9 on his excellency, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte. All participants let them show allegiance to campaign for our Brother Duterte for Mindanao," Misuari said.

Olamit, in the same interview said that they are also willing to help Duterte to accomplish his platforms in criminality and drugs.

"We are ready, the MNLF is ready for all the eventualities. We will just follow his heart, his intuition and we are always ready," Olamit said.

Among the groups who went on sunday to express their support for Duterte were Guardians Brotherhood Incorporated (GBI), Mainstream, Demoratic Society of Crime Busters, Supreme Tribal Council for Peace and Development (STCPD).

STCPD Chair Datu Ruben Labawan in a media interview said that the summit was done to show the unity of the Muslims and Lumads for Mayor Duterte's candidacy.

He said that what they want from Duterte is just simple and that is the development of their Ancestral Domain, which is hopefully be pushed through once Duterte becomes president.

"Sa among mga lumad simple lang ang among ginapangayo kay Duterte nga ang Ancestral Domain madevelop nawala nay mga rebelde na nagsamok-samok sa kabukiran kay tagdon naman tanan (Lumads' demand from Duterte is just simple: bring development to our ancestral domains, which will stop rebellion because everyone's concerns are now addressed)," he said.
