DAR-NegOcc strengthens communication with Arbos

THE Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Negros Occidental-North is working on strengthening communications between the government and its beneficiaries through crafting proper and strong agrarian reform messages.

In a video message to participants of a focus group discussion at the Bacolod Pavillon Hotel on Thursday, March 31, Agrarian Reform Secretary Virgilio de los Reyes said crafting and strengthening agrarian reform messages was a concerted effort of DAR through its Agrarian Reform Capacity Development Service (ARCDS) and Public Assistance and Media Relations Service (PAMRS), as well as the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP).

DAP monitors the status of the programs and interventions of DAR to determine if these have helped the recipient agrarian reform beneficiaries organizations (Arbo) and its members, highlighting the need for proper communication, de los Reyes said.

The activity centered on the generation and collection of data, which will be organized into categories as a process of crafting the agrarian reform messages.

These key messages will then be packaged and disseminated through appropriate media platform or communication channels for target audiences.

De los Reyes said the farmer-beneficiaries are on top of the department’s priority concerns, and there was a need to hear and document various experiences as beneficiaries of the agrarian reform program.

Participating Arbos are Dalayapan Agrarian Reform Cooperative, Nabina ARC and Hacienda Bernardita ARC from Cadiz City, Sitio Tagnipis AR Beneficiaries and Farmers Association and LGEI Farmers Association Inc. of Sagay City, Codcod AR Community Cooperative from San Carlos City, R.A. Golez ARC, and Sibato Tribal Community from Silay City, and Begonia ARC of Manapla and Martir-Bluementritt Farmworkers Association of Murcia town. (EPN)
