A TOTAL of P2,294,500 worth of farm machineries were distributed to Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organizations (Arbos) in La Castellana town by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in partnership with the Municipal Government.
Thirteen beneficiary groups received 13 units of rice thresher and 13 units of power tiller.
At least 817 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) and 580 non-ARBs will benefit with the new farm machineries, according to DAR provincial officer Ronald Gareza.
Fifteen percent of the amount used in purchasing the farm equipment was funded by the La Castellana Municipal Government, said Gareza.
A thresher costs P108,000 while each tiller costs P68,000, he said.
Mayor Alberto Nicor Jr. thanked DAR for the equipment. He also reminded the beneficiaries to take care of the farming facilities.
ARBs representative Daniel Diamante also expressed his gratitude to the people behind the project.
