Village chief accused of harassment

A RESIDENT of Barangay 35 in Bacolod City accused their village chief of harassment for destroying a poster of a local candidate inside their house Friday.

Inspector John Christopher Masangkay, deputy chief of Police Station 1, said, Mary Ann Villegas, 51, reported that barangay captain Manuel Huelar entered their house without permission and tore down the campaign material of a vice mayoralty candidate.

Villegas said that when she tried to stop Huelar, the latter reportedly said, “pagusto lang ko sang ubrahon ko kay ako kapitan di” (I can do whatever I want because I am the barangay captain), police records showed.

Sun.Star Bacolod tried to reach Huelar for his side, but he cannot be reached as of press time. (GYM)
