Ex-mayor receives warm welcome on opening salvo

MASANTOL -- A former mayor here received a warm welcome from around 5,000 supporters during their opening salvo on Sunday evening.

Comebacking Mayor Peter Flores, together with Apalit Mayor and congressional aspirant Oscar Tetangco, Jr. and provincial board aspirants Gerome Tubig and Santo Tomas Vice-Mayor Mark Louie Arceo, said that Masantoleños gave them a rousing welcome during their sortie here.

"Alam ko na na-miss nila ako, na-miss ko din naman sila," said Flores.

Flores assured residents that he would continue to help and double his efforts in helping the Masantoleños if re-elected.

Councilor wannabe Jimmy Balingit said that they have conducted their opening salvo late compared to other political candidates because they wanted to compare the supporters that would come in their political opponents’ opening sortie.

The opening salvo of Flores and company was conducted at the Masantol plaza in front of parish church around 6:3 p.m.

Vice-mayoral aspirant Jorge Bustos also shared his vision in Masantol during the opening salvo, that all families in the town can work because they are educated.

"Sandata ang edukasyon para makapagtrabaho ang mga kabataan in the future," said Bustos.
