Local brands at Pop District Bazaar

ONE should mark his calendars, and head on down to the Oakridge Pavilion and discover Cebu in one giant event at the Pop District Bazaar.

Happening April 15-16, this two-day event has over 100 concessionaires that promote local, small or start-up fashion, lifestyle and food brands all in one place. From clothes, swimwear, shoes, bags, accessories to locally sourced coffee, whole wheat cookies and even crafty products like donut-shaped soaps, the Pop District Bazaar aims to deliver the best of the best.

This will be the first of three Pop District Bazaar events for 2016. With summertime on their minds, District Events, the team behind Pop District Bazaar, came up with a festive theme for the upcoming event. “(With) every bazaar, we change up our themes, our bloggers and our concessionaires. This year, we’re having pops of pastels to celebrate the opening of summer,” said Charmaine de Leon, general manager of District Events.

One of the highlights of the first Pop District Bazaar, which happened last year in September, was their bloggers' meet. In this year’s event, featured bloggers from both Manila and Cebu will be at the two-day event, such as Kryz Uy, David Guison, Vina Guerrero, Vern and Verniece Enciso, Michael Macalos, Doyzkie Buenaviaje, Michael Karlo Lim, Jesse Jake Daan, Sophia Sanchez, Etienne Codina, Vanessa East and many, many more. Aside from the meet and greet, they will have a blogger’s closet raid where the bloggers will sell their own clothes.

Pop District Bazaar is also tying up with Uber where first time users of the app can avail themselves of two free rides to and from the event. An art exhibit called Dear Summer: A Calligraphy, Lettering and Typography Exhibit will also be happening at the event. Local acoustic bands will be serenading shoppers as they peruse through the different local products at the bazaar.

Tickets for Pop District Bazaar are available at Gentlemen Cafe (Cebu Doctors' University and Raintree Mall branches), Ulli’s Streets of Asia, Fujinoya, Sugbo Mercado Office (Thursday to Saturday at the Garden Bloc, Cebu IT Park), Bright Lamps, and Hala Paella (Banilad Town Centre and Robinsons Cybergate branches).
