P2.8M in drugs seized in NegOcc from January-March

ABOUT P2.8 million worth of illegal drug methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu were seized by the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) in the first quarter of 2016.

The volume is 133 percent higher compared to last year’s haul amounting to P1.2 million.

Senior Superintendent William Señoron, police provincial director, said over Aksyon Radyo Bacolod yesterday that 192 suspects were arrested during the period.

Total recovery included 478.2303 grams of shabu and 66.39 grams of marijuana during various operations in the province from January to March.

One hundred twenty-six cases were filed against the suspects.

Señoron said that during the same quarter last year, police arrested 98 suspects with a total recovery of 198.07647 grams of shabu and 19.317 grams of marijuana.

Señoron said the accomplishment is a result of their continuous campaign against the proliferation of illegal drugs in the province. with reports from Glazyl Y. Masculino
