A birthday spread like no other

I AM falling in love with Seda. Each and every time they invite for dinner, the table is set stylishly according to the theme and the food choices are well curated and each rich in flavor. Sous Chef Giovanna “Bang” Flores certainly is working wonders in her kitchen.

Seda will be blowing three candles on its cake this month. And to mark its three years in the city, a month long celebration is in order.

First up, every Friday on the month the hotel is taking everyone who steps in at Misto to a culinary adventure across the Philippine archipelago. The media got a peek of what was going to end up on the buffet spread on the coming days and was able to sample a dish from these menus: Fiesta Flavors and Street Food Flavors (served in the past two Fridays), Island Flavors (April 15), Summer Flavors (April 22), and Regional Flavors (April 29).

Expect to see Kare-Kare, Cebu Lechon, a variety of barbecued fare, crabs to baked Tahong, Embutido, Calderetaing Kambing, Dumaguete Express among the main dishes, flavored rice, and an array of desserts from Binandan to Sapin-sapin. The spread is pretty much what you’ll see on the fiesta tables from Luzon to Mindanao.

Why Pinoy flavors all the way? Because Seda Abreeza has aligned with DOT’s “Flavors of the Philippines”, the gastronomic event of Visit the Philippines Again 2016 campaign. In fact, Seda Abreeza is the only hotel in Region XI to participate in the said event.

A couple of beverages are highlighted this month—the Durian Mocha Latte and an alcoholic beverage, the Tanggero.

So what else does the hotel have in store on their anniversary month?

There’s the Seda Little Chefs, a basic cooking and baking program for kids aged 6-12 (April 15-16); an art exhibit featuring the works of local artists (April 13-May5); and for the hotel’s contribution to the environment, the team will head to Barangay Tambo, Vanishing Island, Babak, Island Garden City of Samal to plant mangroves (on April 16).

Oh, they had a big night a couple nights ago, which I missed, unfortunately. It would have been good to don a suit and a top hat on the Great Gatsby shindig.

Congratulations Seda Abreeza. Cheers!
