Town might implement truck ban

TO EASE traffic in Minglanilla, the town’s police chief has proposed implementing a truck ban.

Chief Insp. Franco Oriol said it will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Oriol submitted his proposal to the southern town’s Peace and Order Council and the Traffic Commission Team.

However, he raised the matter before the Municipal Council last December yet.

“Trucks from the north that are headed south can only travel up to Talisay, maybe at the South Road Properties. Trucks from the south that are headed north can only go as far as the boundary of the City of Naga because the traffic usually starts in Tunghaan. The trucks will only be allowed up to Inayagan, Naga),” Oriol said in Cebuano.

If his proposal is approved, he said it will help ease traffic in the town.

Nagtuo gyod mi nga dako kaayo ni og tabang. Makapaubos sad ni siya sa atong insidente diri sa mga bangga (We really think that this will help a lot. It will also lessen car accidents here in Minglanilla),” he said.

He said he will find out if his proposal is approved after the May 9 elections.

Gidawat na to nila, gihuwat lang gyod nato nga opsiyal na ang pagpahigayon og truck ban. (They already accepted my proposal. I am only waiting for the official approval of the truck ban,” Oriol said. Vaña Ferre Comendador Abella, USJ-R Mass Comm intern
