Sun.Star runs election survey

THE Sun.Star website, at www.sunstar.com.ph, is running an election survey to determine who among the candidates for president and vice president, as well as those running for mayor and vice mayor in Cebu, Davao and Cagayan de Oro have higher chances of winning the May 9 polls.

The survey, which will pop up on screen when someone visits the Sun.Star website, was launched Wednesday, April 13. It will run until the end of April.

The survey records the IP (internet protocol) addresses of the people who took the survey. An IP address is a unique address that identifies the computer or device used on the internet or a network.

Based on the results so far, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is leading the presidential race as of 5:46 p.m. April 15, with 17,905 votes or 76.33 percent of the 23,458 total respondents choosing him as President Benigno Aquino III's successor.

Following Duterte in the presidential race is Liberal Party standard bearer Mar Roxas, who got 3,031 votes (12.92 percent); Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago, with 966 votes (4.12 percent); Senator Grace Poe, with 917 votes (3.91 percent); and Vice President Jejomar Binay with 639 votes (2.72 percent).

Aside from president and vice president, Sun.Star's online survey also reveals who is leading in the Cebu gubernatorial and vice-gubernatorial races, and mayoral and vice-mayoral race in the cities of Cebu, Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu and Talisay, as well as in the cities of Davao and Cagayan de Oro.
