SM LANANG Premier recently held a fashion show featuring 15 of Davao's top fashion designers.
The young crop of fashion designers, who are all millennials, introduced designs and fashion pieces that will surely enhance and highlight the best assets of women, whether they are the free spirited ones, the woman-on-the-go or the working mom since the event offered a wide range of ensembles for women of all ages and style personalities.
In a double celebration for the Araw ng Dabaw and the International Women’s Month, the “Young Davao Designers” runway show drew attention to the creativity and limitless potential of the city’s emerging designers while paying homage to the power and influence of women.
The top 15 young fashion designers were Jun Artajo (Artajó), Wilson Limon (Niño Franco), Bianca Sabellano (Be.young.ca), Ian Manglicmot (The Skip), Mandy Velasco (Amanda), Jozel Ignes (Zel), Andi Amora (Mûre/Amora Couturier), Frances Tendencia (Haberdashery), Joey Hambala (Inpart), and Grand Ravacio (Ravacio), and accessories designers Denise Guirgen and Kethley Uy (Artickles), who showcased their alluring womenswear collections on the ramp vis-à-vis the visual animated backdrop made by graphic designers Shiriel Magalong, Jude Suarez, and Matthew Jaravelo(Mo) who presented their individual designs and creations during the runway event specifically held for the women.
The featured fashion pieces ranged from chic dresses to resort wear, printed ensembles to minimalist clothing and summer color palettes to neutral tones. With the event, mall-goers had a glimpse of fresh, exciting and wearable pieces for various occasions, a breath of fresh air from those being sold commercially.
Among the guests who witnessed the Young Davao Designers runway show were prominent personalities like Jackie Dizon, Rose Alcantara, Danney Barnett, among many others, who were welcomed by SM Supermalls executive RusselAlaba, AVP for Marketing in Mindanao.
