Duterte camp headquarters moves to Manila

WITH just over two weeks before Election Day, the camp of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is moving its national headquarters to Metro Manila.

Davao City Councilor Danilo Dayanghirang, member of National Executive Committee of the Duterte camp, told reporters in an interview Tuesday that the Duterte Camp Headquarters in Metro Manila is now being prepared as the transfer will be done to widen their campaign scope.

“(Maribojoc) Mayor Leoncio Evasco, Duterte’s campaign manager, called us in a meeting yesterday. I representing parallel organizations we already identified volunteers to go there to stay in Manila to generate more people there to help mayor Rody,” Dayanghirang said.

He said that the move brings the headquarters closer to the most contentious areas.

“It is very strategic, second the central media operation is there, the Comelec operation is there and that is one of the main battleground in terms of voters so we have Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao,” Dayanghirang said.

Volunteers are helping fix the headquarters.

“There are many volunteers because under parallel organizations we have 275 associations helping the mayor divided equally in Visayas and Mindanao but many are from Mindanao,” Dayanghirang said.

He also said that the headquarters in Maa will remain to cater to Mindanao. The national headquarters will be along Edsa in Guadalupe, Makati.
