Summer dreams and schemes

SUMMER is upon us (in case the sweltering heat wasn’t enough of a hint). This season is another time in one’s life to take a break, laze for days, hang back and let loose. With calendars or reminders usually brimmed with work, deadlines, appointments and anything to do with school now is also filled with scribbles reminding us of planned beach outings, road trips and other fun-filled stuff. Heck! Even going the spontaneous route seems doable. After all, it is summer.

It’s also about time to pack all cold weather outfits and stuff them in the closet until the season calls for it. Although, props to those who brave the heat covered in layers of clothing. It goes to show that living in the tropics doesn’t hinder one from rocking one’s personal style and totally defying the ordeal this weather is putting the people through.

But as the seasons change, so do fashion trends. And in a country such as this, the best way to enjoy the summer is to work it to one’s advantage by gearing up with ensembles or chic pieces like rompers, dresses, light and breezy tops, kimono jackets paired with sandals, flip flops while donning pretty accessories. It makes one think about a string of possibilities one can make the most of.

Go all out with eye popping colors and resist the urge to stick to just one. It’s one of the best ways to enhance the whole outfit. Frequent doses of color in vibrant prints and different shades not only does wonders but also gives an added spark, like combining a pair of jeans with a printed top for instance.

From the bustling city to the carefree vibes at the beach, sport outfits that bring a touch of class yet are still comfortable enough giving the wearer the best of both worlds. Weather-wise, being practical doesn’t mean looking dull. So apart from spending time playing and frolicking about with friends, take the time to play it up with one’s wardrobe choices that are comfortable, light, and most of all, summer-ready.
