PASTOR Apollo Quiboloy, executive pastor of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ the Name Above Every Name and known staunch supporter of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, threatened on Thursday to lead a revolution if and when the mayor gets cheated in the May 2016 presidential elections.
Quiboloy, who led the inauguration of the world-class multi-million Children's Joy Foundation Inc. (CJFI) Residential Care Center at Purok 8 in Barangay San Miguel in Indangan, Buhangin, bared this during a media interview.
Quiboloy made his statement following alleged reports of cheating in the overseas absentee voting.
"That's what I'm afraid of. In 2010, I said the issue will be the Pcos machine but this time because you see the influx of people going to the meetings of Mayor Duterte wherever he goes, the people will not allow cheating. If you cheat Duterte with a 12 percentage point ahead of his opponents there will be a revolution. I will lead a revolution of the people if that happens. I will not allow it," the CJFI founding president said.
When asked if Duterte will win the presidential race, he replied, "He will win this election. The surveys are not lying, the surveys are legitimate."
He said that Senator Antonio Trillanes IV's allegation that mayor has over P200 million undeclared wealth in his statement of assets, liablilities and net worth (SALN) is but expected towards the end of a heated election season.
"We cannot verify that. In the homestretch of this political season, we expect some things like that to come out. But for me that is a minor issue. The main issue here is who will solve criminality. They (Abu Sayaff) just beheaded a Canadian. If mayor is not put in power, these people will be bolder and Isis-type (of terrorism) will happen here then no businessman will come here and we will be economically derprived of investments. The problem here is criminality and poverty," he said.
He also said that the beheading of Canadian citizen John Ridsel by the Abu Sayyaf Group was just a sample as they have more foreigners in their hands.
The Isis, according to him, will kill without mercy and since the Abu Sayaff is connected with them, the latter did the beheading to impress the Isis in the Middle East to get support from them.
He added that Mayor Duterte committed one battalion of police and one battalion of army to go after these bandits non-stop when he becomes president.
"That is the main issue here because I am affected by this, I'm a high-value target. We are all high-value targets. We will cut them off from the bud as they start and Mayor duterte is the only one who has the balls to do that and not any other presidentiables, they are just fooling the people but the problem remains the same," Quiboloy said.
He, however, said that he is not keen on accepting a government position once Duterte gets elected president as he did not take a course on public administration.
"(I can be) a spiritual adviser. I will supervise honesty in government. It really depends on what I can contribute with the expertise that I have. I will not pretend to know everything because I'm not called to become a politician. In which way I can contribute for the welfare of this country, I will," he said.
Quiboloy earlier offered Mayor Duterte the use of his private chopper and plane to fast track his campaign around the country. "I told him, 'I donate that to you'," he said.
He also urged undecided voters to vote for a leader like Duterte, saying, "If you fail this one, we have reached the point of no return for the Philippines. Mayor who has the balls, at 71, can still exhaust his energies for six years to turn this country around. No more of those political shenanigans for another six years. I'm sick and tired of that. I want change."
