'Best Center' opens in Bagiuo

MORE than 100 hundred young dribblers from Baguio and nearby areas joined the first batch of the country’s oldest basketball sports clinic.

Young basketball players as far as Apayao province, Kalinga and Abra were among the hundreds who enlisted in the pioneering Basketball Efficiency and Scientific Center (Best Center) sponsored by Milo being held at the Easter College Gym.

“At Milo Best Center, we formulate a proven scientific way of teaching children afar from the simple knowledge of dribbling, shooting and other known skills in the game of basketball," Baguio coordinator Russell Go said.

Go added the ladderized program of Milo is set bring out the best from its young learners providing the basic standards for children who are learning to play the sport.

"Training with Milo Best Center will definitely enhance the skills of the learner more differently than the usual way of learning basketball," said Go adding Milo Best Center’s program lets the children develop their knowledge in basketball like no other clinic has to offer.

Go said the first batch of trainees are scheduled in the first week of May while enrolment for the second batch are scheduled on June 6 to 11.

Milo Best Center offers course including introduction to basketball (5 to 8-years-old) followed by four other learning levels of training namely basics in dribbling (level 1), defense (level 2), shooting or offense (level 3), advance basketball (level 4).

The Milo Summer Sports Clinic, the most widely participated sports clinic program in the country, is committed to discover and developing tomorrow’s champion athletes.

The Milo Best Center encourages school children ages 7 to 16 to make the most of their summer vacation by learning sports and taking on new challenges. (PR)
