Duterte’s shoe mishap

PRESIDENTIAL race frontrunner and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte arrived at the Jose Maria College David’s Coffeeshop at Sunday midnight straight from a campaign sortie in Pasay City to be prayed over by the members of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) of his friend Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy.

The congregation was waiting for him, expecting that he can join the regular Sunday gathering, but he could not fly out from Manila earlier.

What caught the congregation’s attention was the state of his right shoe.

The moment he went out of the vehicle to go inside the coffeeshop, the mayor was described to be dragging his right leg. It turned out, the sole of his right shoe was already loose and he was trying to keep it on.

“Natumban daw mao nadaot ang shoes (Somebody stepped on his shoes, that’s why it broke),” a KJC member said.

With no time to change and no extra pair to use, the mayor just made do even though the sole was just about ready to separate from the body. (SAE)
