Ways to get election news and tally

BARELY a week from now, Filipinos from different areas in the country will again choose who among the candidates running for a total of 18,083 positions available are fit to serve the people.

Media organizations will also be around 24/7 come May 9 to bring the public updates from around the Philippines. Sun.Star Publishing Inc., for one, is committed to be there for you in all platforms possible, be it offline or online.

Here are some ways to get election news and tally on May 9 onwards.

Sun.Star newspapers

Sun.Star has newspapers produced from at least six major cities in the country: Cebu, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Bacolod, Baguio and Pampanga. These have circulations from several areas in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, and will provide in-depth and full reports on anything poll-related.

Analysis and opinion articles can also be read from these papers, while photos and infographics will be highlighted to give readers everything they want on hard copy.

E-paper

The Sun.Star E-paper (electronic paper) is the exact digital replica of the newspapers. They can be read from the desktop computer, laptop, tablets or smartphones, and can even be downloaded and saved for offline reading.

The E-papers also allow people to directly search for any topics or stories they wish to read. The stories can also be shared through email and blogs.

Available on epaper.sunstar.com.ph are: Sun.Star Cebu, SuperBalita Cebu, Sun.Star Bacolod, Sun.Star Baguio, Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro, SuperBalita Cagayan de Oro, Sun.Star Davao, SuperBalita Davao, Sun.Star Pampanga, Sun.Star Cebu YearBook, and Bisdak Magasin.

The Sun.Star website, at www.sunstar.com.ph, covers 12 cities: Manila, Baguio, Pampanga and Pangasinan in Luzon; Cebu, Bacolod, Iloilo, Dumaguete, and Tacloban in the Visayas; and Davao, Cagayan de Oro and Zamboanga in Mindanao.

It is updated several times a day and carries breaking news in text, photos or videos. A live streaming will also be available on the website on Election Day.

Not only does it offer the latest news on polls, www.sunstar.com.ph will also provide a running tally of votes (unofficial and official) on Election Day and after May 9. It also has an educational game, “Whack the vote-buyer,” that aims to discourage the selling and buying of votes. Play the game here.
