WHATEVER will be the outcome of the national polls, Heart Evangelista said she is proud of her husband Senator and vice presidential aspirant Francis Escudero, because he gave his all during the campaign.
In the latest Pulse Asia survey, Escudero dropped to third place after Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Camarines Sur Representative Leni Robredo.
Evangelista said she was not disappointed with the figure because the true survey will happen on May 9, election day.
"Ganun lang talaga. Kung ano man ang mangyari, sa eleksyon (na)mismo. This is all destiny. Kahit na anong pilit mo kung hindi sa iyo e hindi sa iyo. That's why it is really important to pour your heart out, to give your 100 percent para alam mo na ginawa mo ang lahat and that's it," she said in an interview Monday.
The actress added that she doesn't expect anything beyond the election and is just looking forward to spending more time with her family.
"I don't think about that (after election). If there's anything I think about, it's the life we have waiting for us. I will be equally happy kung ano man ang mangyari," she said.
Evangelista is also thankful to be part of the campaign even though she admitted that it gets tiring most of the time.
"Na-enjoy ko siya kahit pagod talaga. I think that's what important, that you give 100 percent during the campaign and we pray na makuha ng Pilipino kung sino talaga ang gusto nila. You've done your part, you've given your 100 percent and that's what important."
She's happy to be able to meet many people from different walks of life.
"I have never been so closed to them for the longest time na nag-artista ako. Ito na hug ko sila, napuntahan ko sila. That's an experience and I'm proud na nakaikot ako at napuntahan ko sila. Sobrang appreciative sila na pumunta kami doon. Kahit medyo pagod, sobrang saya lang," she said.
On May 9, Evangelista said her whole family will be in Sorsogon. But after the national polls, she's back to her regular taping schedule.
The actress is set to top bill the newest Kapuso primetime series "Juan Happy Love Story" opposite leading man Dennis Trillo.
The actress said this is very different from her past projects as television viewers will see a mature and naughtier side of Heart Evangelista.
"Noong una medyo naiilang pero si Dennis medyo relax siya. Never naman kasi ako nagkaroon ng ganitong show. It took a while pero after parang normal na siya kasi paulit uit na lang," she added.
"Juan Happy Love Story" airs weeknight starting May 16 on GMA Telebabad. (Sunnex)
