Nonagenarian expresses support to Mamac's vice mayoralty bid

ANGELES CITY --- A 96-year-old woman has expressed support to the candidacy of Balibago Chairman Rodelio Mamac who is seeking the vice mayoralty post here.

Adela “Apung Delia” Padilla, 96, of Epza resettlement center, Pulung Cacutud in this city was accompanied by her son and other relatives when he visited Mamac at the barangay hall on Tuesday.

“She is 96 years old. She asked her son who is also a senior citizen to accompany her in my office because she wants to meet me personally. She was so happy when I gave her a gift. It’s her 96 birthday,” Mamac said.

Before she left Mamac’s office, Padilla told the barangay chairman “I’m praying for you to win the election and be my vice mayor.”

A group of netizens lauded Mamac for his generosity. The village chairman in return urged the voting public not to sell their votes and pick the best candidates.

“We should vote based on our conscience and we should select candidates who are righteous, God-fearing and morally-upright,” Mamac said.
