HOW wealthy is presidential frontrunner Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte?
A copy of Duterte’s 2015 Statement of Assets and Liabilities (SALN), which he filed last Friday and was furnished by the Office of theOmbudsman-Mindanao to Sun.Star Davao on Wednesday, revealed that he has declared a total net worth of P23,514,569.93 as of December 31 last year which is P1,542,837.31 higher from that of his declared net worth in 2014.
Duterte showed in his latest SALN that he has four residential lots in Bago Aplaya, Davao City, which if summed up, would account to P480,000 based on acquisition cost. All of these, as declared by Duterte, were acquired in 1996.
He also listed that he owned two vehicles worth P840,000 which were identified as Volks Sedan and Toyota Rav 4 and were acquired in 1978 and 1996, respectively.
In the second page, under the real properties, Duterte's SALN showed that he has three lots in Maa, Davao City, a house and lot in Matina and Buhangin all amounting to P925,000 based on acquisition cost. These properties were acquired between 1997 to 2008 as reflected in his latest SALN.
Under his personal properties, Duterte stated that he has P14,839,569.93 cash on hand as of December 31, 2015. He also said that he has household appliances and furniture sets worth P350,000; jewelry sets worth P300,000; and investments worth P3,900,000.
In a separate sheet ‘for the exclusive properties of the declarant’s spouse and unmarried children below 18 years of age living in declarant’s household, Duterte named his 11-year-old daughter from his second partner and listed two agricultural lots, two residential house and lot, and a residential lot located in Matina, Malagos, and Catigan.
These real properties have a total value of P3,080,000 based on acquisition cost and were purchased through the exclusive funds of the mother of his 11-year-old daughter, Cielito S. Avanceña, according to Duterte’s SALN.
Under his business interests and financial connections, Duterte declared that he is an incorporator of Honda Cars at Catolico St., General Santos City since 1997 and also an incorporator of Poeng Yue Foundation Inc. at San Pedro St., Davao City since 2012. This was also reflected on his 2014 SALN.
