Voters can leave kids at day care centers

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) called on local government units to open their day care centers on May 9 elections to assist parents with children.

City Social Services and Development head Pacita Tero said on Thursday, May 5, that she has directed all 119 day care centers in Bacolod to open their doors on election day in compliance with Comelec Resolution 10110, promulgated on May 3, 2016.

Tero said the Comelec has ordered all day care centers opened from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 9 to encourage parents, especially mothers, to vote while leaving their children in a safe place.

She added that she would also instruct day care workers to vote early so that they could attend to the children. (CNC)
