Pelco I assures continuous power supply on election day

MEXICO, Pampanga – The Pampanga I Electric Cooperative Inc. (Pelco I) has assured its member-consumers of continuous electric power supply on Monday's election day, May 9.

According to Engr. Loliano Allas, Pelco I general manager, they are always doing their best to avoid any electric power interruption before, during and after every elections.

He said however, that any electric power interruption beyond Pelco I's control is imminent considering the fact that the country is now at the peak of the dry season when the demand for electric power is high.

Allas furthered that Pelco I's management and maintenance personnel are on red alert status to assure the electric cooperative’s readiness and immediate response in case of technical eventuality, if any.

"Our distribution transformers are very much ready and we even have spare transformers on standby. Also, we have inspected public schools where voting and counting shall take place including their circuit breakers and service drop wires to assure their reliability come election day," said Allas.

Nevertheless, the said electric cooperative has not scheduled any maintenance or rehabilitation works in its facilities to give way to the forthcoming national and local elections.

Pelco I caters to power consumers in the towns of Arayat, Candaba, Magalang, Mexico, Sta. Ana and San Luis in the province of Pampanga. (DPL)
