CEBU CITY (Updated) -- Seven bodies were burned after a fire hit houses in Sitio Tomoy and Riverside, Barangay Pahina Central, Cebu City, early morning Saturday, May 7.
A mother and her three children aged three, two, and a month-old baby were said to be among the fatalities.
The burnt bodies were already identified, including that of a mother and one-month-old child who were found embracing each other.

The fatalities were identified as Cindy Galvan, 23; Rexin Alvarez, 4; Star Alvarez, 2; Cendrix Alvarez, 3 weeks old; Maximo Villafuerte, 55; Janna Villafuerte, 2; and a certain Rose.
Injured were two firefighters identified as FO2 Elumir and FO1 Nino Lips Cabalse.
A total of 82 houses, 120 families and 452 individuals were reportedly affected by the fire, which started from a lamp that fell off. The total damage was estimated to be at P1 million.
The fire alarm was raised at 4:44 a.m. and it was placed under control around 6 a.m. as firefighters had difficulty accessing the area. (With Sun.Star Cebu and SuperBalita Cebu/Sunnex)
