Central Luzon police sets up Remac for polls

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- Four days before the May 9 national and local elections, the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) has set up the Regional Election Monitoring and Action Center (Remac) situation monitoring room at the conference room, here.

Chief Superintendent Rudy Lacadin, PRO3 director, said Remac will be acting as the eyes and ears of the PRO3 Regional Special Operations Task Group for SAFE 2016.

Lacadin said Remac is equipped with very dependable communication facilities and installed with very reliable radio system, which enables Remac to have direct contact with lower units through Trinet 1 and Trinet 2 for real time monitoring and coordination of operations.

He said the 24/7 Remac situation monitoring room was activated to capitalize on the latest equipment available in safeguarding regional security before, during, and after the conduct of elections.

"Aside from monitoring election-related violence, Remac will also provide necessary data for decision-making and execution of the Commission on elections and its deputized agencies," Superintendent Nicolas Torre, chief of the PRO3 regional operations and plans division said. (Ric Sapnu)
