Marcos: Liberal Party gears for Plan B

THE Liberal Party (LP) is now preparing for what is claimed as "Plan B" on cheating and vote manipulation on Monday's national elections, Vice Presidential candidate Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. warned on Friday.

The alleged LP's "Plan B" pushes Camarines Sur Representatiev Ma. Leonor "Leni" Robredo to seat the vice presidential post and will later on move for an impeachment plan against the winning president to keep them in power.

This, "desperate move", according to Marcos is after LP loses hope that its standard-bearer Manuel "Mar" Roxas II can win as president.

"I heard from an LP insider that the party is preparing for a plan "B" pushing Robredo to win as VP for whatever means, ipinipilit nilang ipasok, itinataas ang survey, dadayain, so by the time she will seat as VP, tapos kapag si Mayor Duterte ang mananalo as president, i-impeach nila para LP pa rin ang mamumuno," Marcos said in his press conference at the Seda Abreeza Hotel Friday evening.

He questioned the latest results of commercial surveys where he is in statistical tie with Robredo, saying it was an obvious and desperate attempt to condition the minds of the voting public.

Based on the latest BusinessWorld-Social Weather Stations (SWS) pre-election survey, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte remained as the top candidate for president at 33 percent followed by Senator Grace Poe with 22 percent, Roxas with 20 percent, Vice President Jejomar Binay with 13 percent and Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago at two percent.

The survey was sourced from face-to-face interviews of 4,500 validated voters nationwide - 300 in Metro Manila, 950 in North Luzon, 750 in South Luzon, 1,000 in the Visayas and 1,500 in Mindanao.

"I supposed that the best way to safeguard Mayor Duterte would be to have me as his vice president because I'm sure he will not be impeached for I will replace if that is so, no one will never allow that, that is a good way to safeguard his position," he said.

He stressed that he will not, in any way, support impeachment saying he do not want chaos.

"That (chaos) is the last thing we need in this country, what we need is to stabilize our political situation so that we can attend to all the problems that are being face by our people. It should not be the duty of the president, VP or any executive official to run after the passed administration because it will do no good to the majority," Marcos said.

In a report, Robredo said she was saddened by the allegations made by Marcos. Robredo strongly believed that his rival (Marcos) is lying in an attempt to court the supporters of Duterte.
