New business park is filling up fast

THE second building of Lanang Business Park (BizPark) owned by real property developer, Dominic & Sons Realty and Development Corp. (DSRDC), is now 50 percent occupied, just some two months after it was launched in March of this year.

John Irene P. del Ocampo, property manager of the company, said that after the first building of the two-hectare BizPark was fully leased out to different businesses, it immediately launched the second building dubbed as “Eskina” to cater to some different businesses.

“It is now 50 percent occupied. BizPark opened this to bring in new dining and entertainment hub in the northern part of the city as it could accommodate specialty restaurants,” she said.

“We got a lot of inquiries and most of them are companies who would want to branch out in the city, especially now that business climate here is very attractive to investors. Actually, one of the new locators is a restaurant from General Santos City,” she added.

BizPark, the premier project of DSRDC that opened in 2014, now houses a good tenant mix, ranging from local, national and internationally known companies like Blue Post's Boiling Crabs and Shrimps, offices of Solis Tropical Fruits Corp., A&L Cargo Logistics and Asiseals Corp., Gymboree Play and Music, 5th Gear Motorsports, China Shipping, Cosco Shipping, Mercury Shipping and PIL, among others.

BizPark, a two-hectare mixed-use development owned by DSRDC and managed by Discovery Real Estate Development Corp., is envisioned as a business, leisure and entertainment landmark in northern part of the city.

Two buildings will occupy the two-hectare portion of the property, while the other hectare is planned to be developed as condominium, hotel, IT Park or convention center.

Also, part of DSRDC's development plans is the construction of Davao International Convention and Exhibit Center (DICEC) that can accommodate some 7,500 persons.

“These plans are still in our long-term master plan,” Del Ocampo. But she added that the establishment of convention center is not yet company’s prime focus.

DSRDC is also presently securing an accreditation from Philippine Economic Zone Authority, enabling the project as an information technology park.
