Exec: Unite for Mabalacat

MABALACAT CITY --- A city councillor here has called on loosing and winning candidates in the recently concluded polls to move on and unite towards the further development of the city and service to its people.

Dr. Oscar Aurelio, chairman of Barangay Dau and an ex-officio member of the city council representing the Liga ng mga Barangay, stressed this a few days after the May 9 national and local elections.

"We should move on after the divisive elections and unite for the good of our beloved city," said in the vernacular.

Aurelio at the same congratulated reelected Mayor Marino “Boking” Morales, Vice Mayor Christian Halili (unopposed) and the newly elected city councilors.

Morales, the city’s longest reigning mayor for 21 years, defeated outgoing Pampanga First District Board Member Crisostomo Garbo, former Vice Mayor Noelito Castro, and businesswoman Pyra Lucas in the mayoralty race.

Out of the 78,758 actual votes, Morales garnered 40,174 while his closest rival, Garbo, got 17,710.

The other mayoralty candidates, Castro and Lucas, obtained 10,788 and 5,807 resepectively.

The newly-elected members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod include Geld Aquino, (reelectionist), Rox Pena (reelectionist), Dwight Morales (reelectionist), Eddie Sotto (reelectionist), Bok Tiglao (reelectionist), Jeng Yumul (reelectionist), Carlo Rivera (reelectionist), Jerry Basilio (former councillor), Dan Bayani (Dau councilman), and Win Win Garbo (former SK chair).
