Sabsabong ti Mayo, other May treats up

SABSABONG ti Mayo, a fashion show spectacle of Reina Helenas and other treats takes center stage this month as Summer in Baguio enters its final stretch.

City Councilor Elmer Datuin and City Tourism Officer Benedicto Alhambra who head the Summer in Baguio preparations said the Sabsabong activity slated May 27-28 at the Baguio Convention Center aims to promote ‘amianan’ tourism through a fashion show that features gowns made out of recyclable and environmentally friendly eco-fiber.

This year’s edition will banner the theme, “Alamin ang Yamang Turismo ng Hilagang Luzon.”

Beauties from various towns in Luzon will be featured in the show donning the recyclable gowns which will be dubbed as the ‘cultural bearers of the ideals for a Magandang Baguio’ through a symbolic choreography and props.

The fashion show will include an appropriate representation from the city’s women leaders and sectoral representatives.

Representatives from neighboring towns, cities and provinces particularly those involved in the tourism industry have been invited to the activity.
