Negros organic advocates, entreps to speak on health empowerment

TWO Negrense organic advocates and entrepreneurs will speak on health empowerment trough a seminar organized by the Junior Chamber International-Bacolod Chapter at May’s Organic Garden in Barangay Pahanocoy, Bacolod City on May 21.

Aside from being an entrepreneur, Honey Grace Catalan, who is a cancer survivor, an inspirational speaker, and life coach, will lead the morning sessions entitled “There is Life After Cancer,” which include topics on mindset of a health warrior, health protocol, and God’s word as medicine.

For the afternoon sessions, pesco-vegetarian and naturopath doctor Albert Jo, who owns the Rapha Valley Organic Restaurant in Salvador Benedicto, will talk on “Your Food is Your Medicine”.

Jo, an advocate of natural health and healing, will give lectures on awareness and lifestyle of wellness.

Project head Aljon Candelasa said that for many years, the two have been constant speakers in different events, seminars, and trainings around the country, particularly with different health groups.

The seminar dubbed “Live Life to the Fullest II” is aimed at urging Negrenses to provide utmost importance to health and wellness, he added.

“According to research, people are now living longer, yet so many young people are also falling victim to such diseases as stroke and cancer, diseases that had been ailing older people in the previous decades,” Candelasa said.

Seminar registration fee is P600 inclusive of kit, certificate, guided educational tour of the May’s Garden, organic snacks for the morning and afternoon sessions, organic lunch, free on-site blood pressure, and random, and fasting blood sugar tests.

Participants will also get a chance to get 15 percent discount on laboratory exam, free on-site medical and general check-up from various private partners, Candelasa said.

Proceeds will go to Ramon Torres Dulao National High School in Bago City and Medalla Elementary School in Bacolod City. (EPN)
